RV Garages & RV Barns
RV Garages & RV Barns, built by one builder
An RV parked outside in Colorado takes Front Range hail, high-altitude sun that bakes the roof seals, and snow piled on the slide-outs all winter. Storage lots fill up and bill you every month, and many HOAs won't let a camper sit in the driveway at all. An RV garage solves that, but only if it's built around the rig: a door tall enough to clear the air conditioner on the roof, a bay long enough to close the door behind the hitch or the tow car, and a slab that carries the weight. Those are the measurements that matter most.
We build RV garages and RV barns within 100 miles of our base in Parker, on acreage and large lots from Elizabeth and Franktown to Brighton, Peyton, Bennett and the mountain towns along US 285. One builder handles the design, engineering for your site's snow and wind, the permit, site prep, a slab built for the load with radiant tubing laid before the pour if you want heat, and a steel or post-frame building with tall roll-up or overhead doors. One of ours is a tall cream steel RV garage on a radiant-heated slab, with a camper parked inside.

What's included
What goes into our rv garages & rv barns
- 01
Tall doors
Roll-up or overhead doors tall enough to clear the air conditioner and vents on a motorhome or fifth wheel and wide enough to back in without clipping a mirror, framed to stay tight in the wind.
- 02
Long, deep bays
Bays long enough for a fifth wheel and its truck or a motorhome with the tow car, with room left to walk around the rig and load it.
- 03
A slab built for the weight
A reinforced slab sized for a loaded RV, on a compacted base with perimeter footings for frost, and an apron that eases the climb in.
- 04
Heat and insulation
Radiant tubing laid in the slab before the pour, plus insulated walls and roof with a vapor barrier, so the rig stays above freezing and the steel doesn't drip on it.
- 05
Bays for boats, trailers and toys
Extra bays beside the RV for a boat, a horse or car trailer, side-by-sides and ATVs, under one roof or in a lean-to off the side.
- 06
Power, water and light
A shore-power outlet to keep the batteries charged, a frost-free hydrant for washing and filling tanks, and bright lights down the full length of the bay.

“Mike is a true professional in every way. Versatile, reliable, well skilled, and extremely knowledgeable. Easy to work with and a hard worker. His pricing is reasonable and his estimates for his work were spot on. I trusted him completely, as I am an absentee owner and could not be on site to oversee progress. He gave me updates and photos. A great find. Would recommend without any reservation. Hire him if u want it done right and on time.”

A big job · HomeAdvisor review
“Mike was great at communicating with me and was incredibly competitive in his pricing. The work was done quickly and was high quality. I would absolutely recommend his company to anyone needing work done on their houses.”

Home project · HomeAdvisor review
“I am so appreciative of the quality, responsiveness, and value that Mike Fowler and his crew performed on completely remodeling and expanding our kitchen including moving walls. He did it in a timely manner, provided progress updates often and finished the job in record time. We get compliments all the time on the quality of the work and how our kitchen has been completely transformed. He coordinated or did himself all the carpentry, electrical, appliance installation, cabinets, and countertop installation after we approved the plan he drew out for us. I also used him to add a shower to my laundry room, cut down a huge tree in my yard, and put a new face around my fireplace. I would highly recommend Mike for ANY remodeling work you are considering for your house. His prices are competitive too”

Kitchen remodel and expansion · HomeAdvisor review
“Mike has done my entire unfinished basement and his work ethics and willingness to work with changing design needs is exceptional. Mike's patience and quality of work is exceptional. His only goal is to ensure that customer is happy and he doesn't hesitate to redo things if customer wanted differently. I was very happy with his work and did recommend to a friend who is doing his complete basement. he is very affordable versus some of the crazy quotes we got.”

Questions
RV Garages & RV Barns FAQs
How tall does an RV garage door need to be?
Tall enough to clear the highest point on your rig with room to spare, and we size it from your measurements. Measure from the ground to the top of the tallest thing on the roof, usually the air conditioner, and allow for the climb up the apron and for the next RV you might buy. We set the door opening and sidewall height from that, and size the door width so you can back in at an angle.
How do you build an RV garage for Colorado wind and snow?
We engineer it for the site, because tall walls and big doors catch a lot of wind. On the plains and the Palmer Divide we anchor the frame and brace the door openings, and the roof is designed for your county's ground snow load, which climbs fast with elevation, so an RV barn in Bailey or Fairplay gets much more roof than one in Brighton. Under the slab we prepare for expansive clay with a compacted base and grading that carries water away.
How much does an RV garage cost?
It depends mostly on size and height: the length and width of the bays, how tall the sidewalls have to be and how many large doors you need. Then come the slab and the finish, such as insulation, radiant heat, power and water, plus any extra bays for a boat or trailer. Site work for a long drive or a sloped lot counts too. We look at your rig and your land and quote it for free.
Do I need a permit for an RV garage?
Yes. An RV garage needs a building permit from your city or, on unincorporated land, from the county, and tall buildings often run into height limits, setbacks and HOA covenants in acreage subdivisions. An HOA that bans RVs in driveways may still allow an RV garage that meets its design rules. We check zoning and covenants for your lot and handle the permit for you.
Should I build an RV carport or an enclosed RV garage?
If you only need to keep hail and sun off, an open-sided RV cover is the simpler building, and we engineer it for the same snow and wind as an enclosed one. Open sides let wind get under the roof, so anchoring matters even more on the plains. An enclosed RV garage also keeps out blowing snow, dust and mice, can be heated and locks. If you might close it in later, we plan the frame and slab for walls from the start.
