Metal Buildings in Franktown, built by one builder

Planning a metal building in Franktown? We build steel buildings sold and installed, engineered for local snow and wind across Douglas County, from our base in Parker, CO.

Around the edge of the metro it's acreage, horse property and big lots: pole barns for equipment and toys, heated shops, RV garages, horse barns and barndominiums on land people bought to get some room. Covenants in acreage subdivisions often set colors, height and setbacks, so we check them first.

The quote is free: tell us the size, what the building is for and where the property is.

Douglas County, Colorado

Metal Buildings around Franktown

We build all over Franktown and the rest of Douglas County, including nearby The Pinery, Ponderosa Park and Castle Rock.

Franktown is a Douglas County community where State Highways 83 and 86 meet, east of Castle Rock. Franktown is about 7 miles south of our base in Parker, CO, well inside our 100-mile service area.

Colorado is hard on buildings: snow loads that change with elevation and county, wind that hammers open ground on the plains and the Palmer Divide, hail, and clay soils that swell and shrink under a slab. So every building is engineered for the snow and wind where it sits, the slab goes on a prepared, compacted base with footings below the frost line, and insulation and vapor control keep condensation off the steel.

  • “I am so appreciative of the quality, responsiveness, and value that Mike Fowler and his crew performed on completely remodeling and expanding our kitchen including moving walls. He did it in a timely manner, provided progress updates often and finished the job in record time. We get compliments all the time on the quality of the work and how our kitchen has been completely transformed. He coordinated or did himself all the carpentry, electrical, appliance installation, cabinets, and countertop installation after we approved the plan he drew out for us. I also used him to add a shower to my laundry room, cut down a huge tree in my yard, and put a new face around my fireplace. I would highly recommend Mike for ANY remodeling work you are considering for your house. His prices are competitive too”

I was very happy with his work and did recommend to a friend who is doing his complete basement. he is very affordable versus some of the crazy quotes we got.”

Questions

Metal Buildings in Franktown: FAQs

Do you build metal buildings in Franktown, CO?

Yes. Franktown is about 7 miles south of our base in Parker, CO, well inside our 100-mile service area. We build steel buildings sold and installed, engineered for local snow and wind there, and the quote is free.

Do I need a permit for a metal building in Franktown?

Usually. When one is needed, we get it from Douglas County, since Franktown is unincorporated and build to whatever the permit and inspections require.

How are your metal buildings built for Colorado snow and wind?

Each one is engineered for the ground snow load and wind exposure at its address. Snow loads are set by the county and rise fast with elevation, so a building in Bailey or Woodland Park needs far more roof than one in Brighton. On the plains and the Palmer Divide, anchoring and door bracing matter as much as the frame. We also build the slab for expansive soils and slope the grade so water runs away.

Do I need a permit for a metal building?

In most cases, yes. The county issues it on unincorporated land and the city inside town limits, and they will want engineered drawings for your site and a foundation plan. HOA and covenant rules in acreage subdivisions can limit steel siding, colors and height. We check your parcel, work with the building department and handle the permit for you.

What is the difference between red iron and light-gauge steel?

Red iron is a pre-engineered metal building with heavy structural steel columns and rafters, the usual choice for wide clear spans, tall doors and commercial use. Light-gauge steel uses lighter cold-formed members, which suits garages, carports and smaller shops. Both can be engineered for Colorado loads, and we recommend the frame that fits your size, use and site.

Do you only sell the building, or install it too?

We sell and install. One builder handles the building, engineering, permit, site prep, slab, erection, doors, insulation and finish, so the slab matches the anchor plan and no part of the job waits on another contractor. You get one schedule, one point of contact and weekly progress updates.
